Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – Hawkesbury Library Service
To help limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Council is working to protect the Hawkesbury community by reducing in-person contact.
Richmond Branch Library and Hawkesbury Central Library are closed to the public and all upcoming public programs and events for Hawkesbury Library Service have been cancelled. Although public access is closed to Hawkesbury Library Service, all online and phone services are still operating. Staff can answer or research enquiries over the phone or even email out information if needed.
Go online and join now
Library members are encouraged to use the wide range of online resources including eBooks, eMagazines, eAudio, children’s games and activities.
New memberships - you can join online and call the Library to complete your membership – you will be issued with an online only membership, which can be upgraded to a full membership upon showing ID when Hawkesbury Library Service reopens. This will allow you access to online resources without needing to physically attend the library.
Library members can still return current loans to the after-hours returns chutes, however all loans have been extended to cover the period of closure, and will not become overdue.
Unfortunately reservations cannot currently be collected, though all existing reservations have been extended so they will still be available when the service returns to normal.
Library public programs
While all Library programs have been cancelled, Hawkesbury Library Service will aim to maintain community engagement by extending its online activities. More information will be available on these exciting new activities soon.
Council continues to closely monitor and follow the advice of the NSW and Federal Governments and will keep community members updated with further changes.
