School holiday fun at the Library and Gallery Spring school holidays

Hawkesbury Library Service and Hawkesbury Regional Gallery are presenting a range of fun programs to keep the kids entertained during the spring school holidays. All activities are for school aged children (children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult). COVID-Safe requirements will be in place and there will be limits on attendee numbers. Bookings essential.

ENCHANTED COASTERS

Tuesday, 29 September 10am-11:30am

Draw inspiration from your favourite fairy-tales to design a coaster made of pearler beads. Then, like magic, the beads harden when they are ironed.

MAGICIAN’S JUGGLING BALLS

Thursday, 1 October 10am-11:30am  

All magicians need to develop juggling skills. Learn how to make a set of juggling balls to practice this talent at home.

FREE – all materials supplied. For 8 years+.

SHIMMERY SLIMEY SLUSH

Tuesday, 6 October 10am-midday

Embrace your inner witch or wizard by concocting potions that will shimmer and sparkle. These magical science experiments use ingredients found in the kitchen cupboard.

$5 – all materials supplied. For 8 years+.

MAGIC PICTURE FRAMES

Thursday, 8 October 2pm-3:30pm

Learn how to make a picture frame where the image magically changes colour in front of your eyes.

HAWKESBURY REGIONAL GALLERY

MINI WORLDS

Wednesday, 30 September 10am-midday

Test your creativity and imagination while building a mini world hidden inside a pretend book, using a variety of model making materials and techniques. For 10 years+.

BALLOON ANIMAL ART

Friday, 2 October 10am-midday

Using paint marker pens learn how to draw and layer to create a quirky framed artwork of a balloon animal. This is a fantastic exercise in learning about light, shadows and reflections.

CREEPY PET ROCKS
