Casual position for 12 months
Council prides itself on providing quality public reserves for the community to enjoy.

Applicants must have good communication skills to promote a positive public image and have a good level of fitness. Previous experience cleaning public areas would be an advantage.

The position is classified under Council’s salary structure as Grade 6, with a casually hour rate of $24.02 per hour.

Nominations for Hawkesbury District Sports Awards

The Hawkesbury Sports Council and Hawkesbury City Council are calling for nominations of local sports achievers who have represented the Hawkesbury or made a positive contribution to sport.

Members of the community are invited to nominate worthy persons for the annual Hawkesbury District Sports Medal and Hawkesbury District Sports Certificate Awards.

The Hawkesbury District Sports Medal seeks to recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to, or represented the Hawkesbury in, sport of any kind at a district or higher level for a minimum 10 continuous years.

The Hawkesbury District Sports Certificate is for persons that have supported their sport at the local club level for 10 years, 20 years or 30 years. Nominees may be drawn from all persons involved, from players or competitors through to sport fundraisers.

These awards recognise not only those that have achieved a high status within their sport but also those that have been dedicated at the higher levels in their sport but who don't always appear directly on the sporting fields such as administrators, coaches, referees and umpires.

Both awards recognise Hawkesbury City Council's dedication to support local sportspersons and to recognise the community members who display a high level of commitment to sport in the Hawkesbury.

Nomination Forms for the awards can be downloaded from the Council’s website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or can be obtained at council offices, Windsor or Richmond Library or by phoning the Hawkesbury Sports Council on 4571 2252 or Council’s Public Relations Coordinator on 4560 4430. Nominations will close Friday, 25 September 2009.
