2010 Garden Competition

Welcome to the 2010 Hawkesbury Garden Competition proudly brought to you by Hawkesbury City Council and our major sponsors Seasol, Bettergrow & Neutrog. We look forward to receiving many entries. First prize winners will automatically be entered into the running to be named “Champion Garden 2010”. Entries that have their garden judged will be automatically entered into the running to be named “Best Garden by Location”. Photographs will be taken of all gardens and these will be available for order on the presentation night through the Hawkesbury Camera Club.

Governer Phillip Reserve and boat ramp temporary closure

Notice is given that Governor Phillip Reserve and boat ramp will be closed to the general public on Saturday 28 August 2010 and Sunday 29 August 2010, as exclusive use has been granted to Ski Racing NSW Inc.for the 2010 Hawkesbury 120 Ski Race Classic.

Hawkesbury Household Chemical CleanOut 22 August 2010

Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility will accept Household Chemicals on Sunday, 22 August 2010 only from 9am to 3.30pm.

CleanOut is a free annual service for the safe disposal of a range of common household chemicals, such as solvents, household cleaners, ammonia based cleaners, paint, pesticides and fuels. Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility will accept household quantities, up to a maximum 20 litres or 20 kilograms.

Expressions of Interest - Disability Advisory Committee - Community Representatives

Expressions of Interest are invited from persons who have the experience and / or knowledge of disability issues - with a particular focus on disability access matters - to be appointed to Hawkesbury City Council’s Disability Advisory Committee as a community representative.

The Disability Advisory Committee is to be established by Council to provide a forum for the discussion and resolution of access issues impacting on people with a disability. The Committee will also work with Council staff on the development of a Disability Action Plan for the Hawkesbury.

The Committee’s operations will be governed by a Constitution adopted by Council. Community representatives appointed to the Committee will be required to conduct themselves in accordance with the Hawkesbury City Council Code of Conduct.
