Community Sponsorship Program 2010/2011
Round 1 of the program is currently open and applications will be received until the close of business, Friday 2 July 2010, for funding early in the new financial year.
The program covers any Hawkesbury based community organisation, business or individual wanting to undertake activities that address the needs of the community as identified in Council’s adopted strategic, community, cultural and other plans. It also covers individuals who are representing the Hawkesbury at a state, national and international sporting competition or cultural event.
Hawkesbury City Council will assess the applications and provide sponsorship to support activities or events which will benefit the residents of the Hawkesbury within the available resources.
The purpose of Council’s sponsorship program is to enable community groups and individuals to access resources that would otherwise be unavailable to them. These resources could include:
- Financial - in terms of direct funding
- Human - in terms of advice, skill and expertise of Council staff
- Material - in terms of goods and services provided directly by Council as an ‘in-kind’ contribution

Hawkesbury Library Celebrates
The Library will celebrate 5 years at the Deerubbin Centre on Saturday 5th June 2010 and will be opened for extended hours 9am to 4pm.
A giant Book Sale from 9am to 4pm, 1000s of books for sale from 20c.
Entertainment from 9.30am and throughout the day, sausage sizzle and coffee for sale.
Children's activities, storytime, clowns from 10.30am. Cake cutting at 11.45am.
Free library bags to new members plus lucky door prizes.

The development consents are available for public inspection, without charge, at Council Offices. Office hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Notice is given pursuant to Section 79(1)(d) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, that Hawkesbury City Council is in receipt of an Designated Development Application for a Concrete Batching Plant at Lot 178 DP 752032, No. 306 Racecourse Road, South Windsor.
The applicant is Glenella Quarry Pty Ltd. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.
The applicant is seeking development consent for the construction and operation of a concrete batching plant. The proposal includes the construction of a concrete batching plant comprising four overhead storage silos, eight in-ground aggregate storage bins, aggregate weigh bins, covered conveyors, office and amenities building, water storage tanks, bunded and covered additive/chemical and fuel storage areas, transit mixer and vehicle parking areas, a water management system and all related ancillary activities. Annual concrete production would be in the range of 25000m3 to 50000m3 per year.
The proposed development is defined as designated development under Section 77A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The development application and the documents accompanying the application, including the environmental impact statement may be inspected and will be on public exhibition for the period 3/06/2010 to 3/07/10. During the public exhibition period ( 3/06/2010 to 3/07/2010 ) any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the development application. Where a submission by way of objection is made, the grounds for objection are to be specified in the submission.
Please note that confidentiality is not available to objectors. The details of any submissions may be included in a Council report or forwarded to the applicant where it may help to resolve design or operational problems. Information (including copies of submissions) may also be released in accordance with Council Policy for Access to Information.
An objector who is dissatisfied with the determination of a consent authority to grant consent to a development application for designated development (including designated development that is integrated development) either unconditionally or subject to conditions may, within 28 days after the date on which notice of the determination was given in accordance with the regulations, and in accordance with rules of court, appeal to the Court in accordance with Section 98 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 unless the proposed development is development about which the Planning Assessment Commission has conducted a review. Should the Planning Assessment Commission conduct a review of the application, the Minister’s determination of the application is final and not subject to appeal.

Planning Proposal to rezone Part Lots A and B DP 411701, 126 and 130 Windsor Road, McGraths Hill to 4(b) Light Industry
Council has prepared a planning proposal under the provisions of Section 55 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 to rezone part Lots A and B DP 411701 (excluding an approximately 22 metre wide strip of the subject land reserved for future widening of Windsor Road) 126 and 130 Windsor Road, McGraths Hill, from the Rural Living zone to the 4(b) Light Industry zone.
It is considered that the Rural Living zone is no longer appropriate for the subject land and the proposed 4(b) Light Industry zone better reflects the current approved uses on the land (including a service station and motor showrooms) and future desired uses.
The planning proposal and other supporting documentation are on public exhibition 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday at the Council offices, 366 George Street, Windsor for the period Friday 4 June 2010 to Monday 21 June 2010. The planning proposal and other supporting documentation can also be viewed on Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au.
Interested persons are invited to inspect the planning proposal and other supporting documentation.
