Hawkesbury Sport Awards Now Open for Nominations

Members of the community are invited to nominate worthy persons for the annual Hawkesbury District Sports Medal and Hawkesbury District Sports Certificate Awards.

The Hawkesbury District Sports Medal seeks to recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to, or represented the Hawkesbury in, sport of any kind at a district or higher level for more than 10 years.

The Hawkesbury District Sports Certificate is for persons that have supported their sport for 10 years, 20 years or 30 years at the local club level. Nominees may be drawn from players or competitors through to sport administrators.

Nomination Forms for the awards can be downloaded via the link or at council offices, Windsor or Richmond Library or can be obtained by phoning 4571 2252 or 4560 4430. Nominations will close Friday, 4 June 2010.

Natalie Burton Memorial Award

Hawkesbury City Council is calling for nominations for the annual Natalie Burton Memorial Award on behalf of the Burton, Turner and Lawrance families.

One award will be presented to a student from a Secondary School within the Hawkesbury City Council area. This award is intended for a recipient who has faced a challenging circumstance, and through their application and determination, overcome this adversity to succeed. This circumstance could be a disability, illness, serious accident, loss of a family member or other situation.

Members of the community are invited to nominate a student for the 2010 Natalie Burton Memorial Award by completing a nomination form which can be obtained from Council offices at 366 George St, Windsor, by calling 4560 4430 or Council Website. Nominations close on Friday, 4 June 2010.

2010/2011 Draft Management Plan on Public Exhibition

Each year Hawkesbury City Council outlines its activities for the coming year through the Management Plan. The 2010/2011 Draft Management Plan is split into three easy to read volumes:

1. Strategic and Operational Plan
2. Budget Estimates
3. Revenue Pricing Policy (with Fees and Charges)

What the Management Plan is about

The Strategic Plan sets out the goals that Council works towards and the Operational Plan details the key elements of projects that will be undertaken. The Budget Estimates detail the proposed income and expenditure for each of the different functions and the proposed capital works program. The Revenue Pricing Policy details a list of fees and charges that contribute to Council’s income.

Where to see the Management Plan

The 2010/2011 Draft Management Plan will be on public exhibition from Thursday, 29 April 2010 until Friday, 28 May 2010. You can view the Plan at:

* Online at Council’s website

The community is invited to provide comment on the exhibited Plan via written submissions sent to Council by any of the methods listed below by Friday, 28 May 2010:
