Community Builders Funding Scheme Information Session

Council is hosting a community information session on the 'Community Builder's Funding Scheme'. The session will be held on Friday, 21 October 2011 from 2:30pm to 5pm in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor.

The Scheme is coordinated by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services and is a community capacity building funding program that contributes to building stronger communities. The session will discuss: application guidelines, local and regional priorities, and other information needed for making an application for funding.

Community Sponsorship Program 2011/2012

Round 2 of the program is currently open and applications will be received until the close of business, Friday 28 October 2011.
The program covers any Hawkesbury based community organisation, business or individual wanting to undertake activities that address the needs of the community as identified in Council's adopted strategic, community, cultural and other plans. It also covers individuals who are representing the Hawkesbury at a state, national and international sporting competition or cultural event.
Hawkesbury City Council will assess the applications and provide sponsorship to support activities or events which will benefit the residents of the Hawkesbury within the available resources.
The purpose of Council's sponsorship program is to enable community groups and individuals to access resources that would otherwise be unavailable to them. These resources could include:
– Financial - in terms of direct funding
– Human - in terms of advice, skill and expertise of Council staff
– Material - in terms of goods and services provided directly by Council as an 'in-kind' contribution

Development Applications Recently Determined

Notice under Section 101 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, the following Development Consents were determined by Council.

The development consents are available for public inspection, without charge, at Council Offices. Office hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Integrated Development Proposal

Lot 2 DP1149702, 404 Eask Kurrajong Road East Kurrajong NSW 2758

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for a Dam at the above property. The applicant is Andrew John Borg and Jennifer Joan Borg. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.

The proposed development is defined as integrated development under Section 91 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Water Management Act, 2000 is required. The approval body is the NSW Office of Water.

The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition for the period 14 October 2011 to 14 November 2011. All plans and details may be inspected between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, at Council''s Administration Office, 366 George Street, Windsor.

During the exhibition period any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the development application, quoting reference DA0310/11. Where a submission by way of objection is made, the grounds for objection are to be specified in the submission. Should you lodge a submission, your views will be taken into account as part of our assessment and a reply will be forwarded to you when the application is determined.

Please note that confidentiality is not available to objectors. The details of any submissions may be included in a Council report or forwarded to the applicant where it may help to resolve design or operational problems. Information (including copies of submissions) may also be released in accordance with Council Policy for Access to Information.

If you have any concerns about the proposal, it is suggested that you speak with the assessing officer so that all aspects may be fully discussed. Matters such as privacy, overshadowing and impact on adjoining owners are a normal part of our assessment.
