Calling all Green Thumbs! National Tree Day 2012!

Calling all Green Thumbs! Hawkesbury City Council and Planet Ark are calling on schools, community groups and individuals in the Hawkesbury to get involved in National Tree Day.

This year National Tree Day will be held in the Hawkesbury on Sunday, 29 July 2012 from 10am – 12noon at Charles Kemp Recreational Reserve, Swallow Reach Place, Ebenezer.

Participants should bring along a sun hat and sunscreen, wear sturdy shoes, a long sleeve shirt, long pants and gloves.

A FREE sausage sizzle and drinks will be available for all participants to thank them for all their hard work at the end of the planting.

To register for National Tree Day please contact Council’s Bushcare Officer on 4560 4525.

Schools can get involved by taking part in School Tree Day on Friday, 27 July 2012. Schools in the Hawkesbury are eligible for four free plants per year from the Hawkesbury Community Nursery. So, why not take advantage of this during School Tree Day. To find out if your school is eligible please contact the Hawkesbury Community Nursery on 4560 4651. Teachers can find out more about School Tree Day by visiting, treeday.planetark.org/.
