Council is establishing an Economic Working Group, as part of its approach to developing an Economic Development Strategy in 2014-15. The economic development strategy (Strategy) will require input and support from the community and businesses to progress the local economy in the macro economies we are a part of today.

The working group’s purpose is consultative and to inform and support the Strategy’s vision and development. The working group will operate for up to 2 years, meet monthly and members will be required to assist in engagement activities during the preparation of the Strategy.

We are looking for people who are ‘citizens of the Hawkesbury’ area, who may have skills and experience in economic development, industry development and expansion, business development, business success, investment attraction, innovation and even business-social responsibility and community development. We are looking for strategic thinkers who can help look at market trends.

Expressions of interest are invited from community and business representatives to be part of the working group, which will also have local business groups, Hawkesbury Councillors and Hawkesbury Council Management members.
