Food Handling Seminar
Council is working to improve food safety in the food businesses and homes in the Hawkesbury. Currently, there are millions of cases of foodborne illness that affect Australia each year. People working or seeking to work in the food industry, and residents concerned about food safety, are encouraged to come along to Council’s Food Handling Seminar. The next course will be held on Wednesday 25 October 2017 from 5pm to 8pm at the Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre, 114 March Street Richmond at a low cost of $53.50 per participant. The course covers personal hygiene, allergens, time and temperature, food preparation and storage, and cleaning and maintenance. Public Exhibition of Draft Supplementary Resourcing Strategy 2017-2027, and Draft Supplementary Delivery Program 2017-2021
Following a three stage inter-connected Fit For The Future community engagement process including Listening to Our Community – Council Services, The Hawkesbury 2036 Its Our Future, and Investing in Your Future the following key documents have been prepared in order to resource the future:
Draft Supplementary Resourcing Strategy 2017–2027
Draft Supplementary Delivery Program 2017–2021
The Draft Supplementary Resourcing Strategy 2017-2027 consists of three interrelated elements including Long Term Financial Planning, Asset Management Planning and Workforce Planning. The Draft Supplementary Resourcing Strategy 2017–2027 also plays a role in resourcing the achievement of the Draft Supplementary Delivery Program 2017–2021 and future Operational Plans.
The Draft Supplementary Delivery Program 2017-2021 turns the strategic goals within the Hawkesbury Community Strategic Plan 2017–2036 into actions. It is Council''s commitment to the Community Strategic Plan and details which issues within its area of responsibility that Council will act upon during its four year term of office.
The Draft Supplementary plans will be on public exhibition for the period Friday, 13 October 2017 to Friday, 10 November 2017. You can view the supplementary plans at Council’s Administrative Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, on Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au, or on Council’s online community engagement site www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au

We currently have an opportunity for a highly organised and efficient administration officer to join the Human Resources Team.
This is an interesting and varied role where you are required to provide high level administration support for a range of HR related functions. A key focus will be on maintaining systems that provide user friendly, value added support to HR and the organisation.
Responsibilities will include the preparation of recruitment documentation, drafting correspondence, organising service awards, assisting with training and HR related events and ensuring appropriate record keeping practices are adhered to.
You will have a tertiary qualification in administration along with skills and experience in a broad range of administrative tasks. You must also have effective communication skills, a proactive can-do approach and the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement when making decisions. Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills are also required.
Commencing Salary:- Grade 9 Entry, $631.64 per week, plus 9.5% Superannuation. Days of work will be Wednesday to Friday.

Companion Animals Team Leader - CP019RS

This position requires a dedicated individual with extensive management and animal welfare/regulatory control experience, to coordinate the day to day operations of Council's Companion Animals Shelter as well as actively contribute towards the long term strategic direction of the Shelter operations.
Reporting to the Environment & Regulatory Services Manager, key responsibilities will include, maintaining and supervising all aspects of the day to day operations of the shelter including animal husbandry and customer service standards; building and maintaining positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders while also ensuring relevant legislation and operational standards are instigated and adhered to.
To be considered for this role you must have relevant qualifications, a strong background in an animal welfare/care related industry and or regulatory control, coupled with extensive experience in a management role involving staff supervision and financial control. A proven ability to communicate effectively and a demonstrated ability to engage a high level of initiative together with strong organisational and problem solving skills is also essential.
A restricted private use vehicle is currently available with the position however, it is not a condition of employment.

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced and skilled Events & Community Engagement Coordinator to help establish the Hawkesbury as an event friendly destination and to support and develop Council’s events and community engagement programs.
You will be working within a small but dynamic Corporate Communication Team. You will assist in coordinating Council’s events programs and be responsible for building and administering processes to ensure that the City delivers quality, successful and sustainable events. You will be responsible for Council’s online community engagement site and events Facebook page. You will also provide support with general public relations and media relations. The successful applicant will assist and encourage external and internal event organisers to realise events that will add vibrancy to our many towns and villages and capitalise on the rich opportunities that the Hawkesbury offers.
To be successful in the role we are looking for a professional with demonstrated experience in event management and community engagement programs preferably within a government setting. Applicants will be responsible for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and therefore must have strong communication and negotiation skills, be highly organised, able to work independently, have excellent IT skills and be across all social media platforms. Photography and or graphic design skills are desirable but are not a requirement for the position. Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or in Communications, Public Relations or a related field are essential.
