Designated Development Proposal

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for Designated Development - Rural Industry - Expansion of Composting Facility and Construction of Handstand Areas at the above property. The applicant is PGH Environmental Planning. Hawkesbury Local Planning Panel is the consent authority.

The proposed development is defined as Integrated development under Section 4.46 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because a approvals under the Water Management Act 2000 and Protection of the Environment Act 1997 is required. The approval bodies are the Department of Industry – Natural Resource Access Regulator and the NSW Environment Protection Authority.

The development application, environmental impact statement and supporting information will be on public exhibition for the period 06 June 2019 to 8 July 2019. All plans and details may be inspected in digital form between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, at Council's Administration Office, 366 George Street, Windsor. The application can also be inspected at the Department of Planning and Environment Offices at 320 Pitt St, Sydney.

During the exhibition period any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the development application, quoting reference DA0183/19. Where a submission by way of objection is made, the grounds for objection are to be specified in the submission. Should you lodge a submission, your views will be taken into account as part of our assessment and a reply will be forwarded to you when the application is determined.

Please note that confidentiality is not available to objectors. The details of any submissions may be included in a Council report or forwarded to the applicant where it may help to resolve design or operational problems. Information (including copies of submissions) may also be released in accordance with Council Policy for Access to Information.

Once the application is determined, any person who made an objection to the proposal, or is dissatisfied with the determination made by the Local Planning Panel, may appeal to the Land and Environment Court.

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for a Pet Crematorium - Installation of Cremator at the above property. The applicant is Invocare Australia Pty Limited. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.

The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition for the period 20 June 2019 to 4 July 2019. All plans and details may be inspected between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, at Council's Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor.

Proposed Road Closure - Upper Macdonald Road JR 0554


Under Section 38B of the Roads Act 1993, notice is given that Hawkesbury City Council will consider the closing of a road in connection with an application proposed by Council.

The road under consideration comprises part of the Council public road known as the section of Upper Macdonald Road near Jurd’s Bridge, Upper Macdonald (shown on the map below). Upon closure the closed road will become operational land.


Council will receive submissions regarding the Proposal. All submissions received will be considered in reaching a decision regarding the proposed road closing.

Public Exhibition of Revised Media Policy

Hawkesbury City Council’s Media Policy outlines Council’s intentions with regard to the media, together with roles and responsibilities and the process for dealing with the media.

A major review of the Media Policy has been conducted to include a wider range of information than the current Media Policy. An assessment of the updated Media Policy has also been undertaken against current best practice by an independent consultant. Minor suggestions were made following the review and these were incorporated into the document.

As part of the review, the Purpose, Scope and Objectives have all been updated to reflect changes in the current media landscape. The Purpose of the Media Policy is to provide open and clear communication and to strengthen the existing relationships Council has with the media.

At its meeting on 28 May 2019, Council considered the matter and resolved to place the Council Report and the draft revised Media Policy on public exhibition.

In accordance with that decision, Council’s Report - Review of the Media Policy and the draft revised Media Policy is placed on public exhibition until Wednesday, 10 July 2019 and may be viewed on Council’s website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or in person at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor.
