2020 Council Elections Postponed

On 25 March 2020, in response to COVID-19 Pandemic, the NSW Government announced its decision to postpone the NSW Local Government Election. The elections were originally to be held on 12 September 2020. NSW Government has confirmed that the Local Government Elections are now proposed to be held on 4 September 2021.

2016 Council Elections

Hawkesbury City Council residents and ratepayers elect 12 Councillors at a Local Government Election.

On Saturday, 17 September 2016  the poll was officially declared for the Local Government Election held on Saturday, 10 September 2016. The final results of the election can be viewed by visiting the Hawkesbury City Council Election Page on the NSW Electoral Commission Website.

A Constitutional Referendum concerning Wards was also considered as part of the 2016 Election.  The result of the Referendum was No, which means that the Hawkesbury will remain an undivided Council with no wards. The final results are available on the NSW Electoral Commission Website.
