Stories from a Darug Voice

13 October - 3 December 2017

Stories from a Darug voice explores the importance of storytelling in Aboriginal art and looks at specifically at traditional and contemporary stories of the Darug peoples from our region. The exhibition includes the work of Robyn Caughlan, Leanne Tobin, Shay Tobin and Dianne Ussher.

Through the mediums of painting on canvas, photography, textile and clothing design, the artists explore their traditional Darug stories of creation, people and the land but also touch on more recent and darker histories. Works also explore ideas of Aboriginal and Christian spirituality, the environment and connections to the land both traditional and newly found.

Stories from a Darug Voice is a Hawkesbury regional Gallery exhibition.
