Production Studio

The Hawkesbury Library Service is excited to introduce our Production Studio — a dedicated space for the community to record and produce audio projects. Whether you're just starting out or building your skills, the studio provides the tools to help you create with confidence.

Our soundproof room has been lined with acoustic paneling to help reduce outside noise and create clear, high-quality recordings.

The room is equipped with the following equipment:

  • x1 RØDECaster Pro II — an all-in-one audio production console
  • x4 RØDE PodMic
  • x4 RØDE NTH-100 headphones
  • x1 Softbox Lighting kit

What is the purpose of the Production Studio?

The production room is equipped with audio equipment to allow the creation of audio material such as podcasts and voice-overs.

How is the Production Studio booked?

Bookings can be made through Bookable, click here to be redirected to the bookings page.

Are there any time limits to bookings?

Yes – To allow for the best possible experience, the room will be available 30 minutes after the library opens until 30 minutes before it closes in the evening. There will also be a buffer period of 30 minutes to allow the room to be cleaned and prepared for the next user.
The minimum time for a booking is 1 hour.

Can I bring my own device to use with the equipment?

Yes – The equipment is compatible with most laptops and mobile devices. Support with personal devices is limited.

If I don’t have a device – where can I save my recordings or videos?

While the Library does not provide any SD cards, there are USBs available for purchase. Users are encouraged to bring their own where possible. There is an adapter to allow the use of standard USB sticks in the RODECaster Pro II.

Please note that the RODECaster Pro II will automatically format a USB when it is connected. This process will wipe the USB of all existing content. 

The Library cannot be responsible for any lost work or data.

How many people are able to be included in a booking?

There are 4 microphones available, however, the room capacity is 6.

Can I use the Production Studio outside of Library opening hours?

No, the room is only available for hire during Windsor Central Library opening hours.

Monday - Friday

9:30am to 6:30pm

Saturday

9:30am to 12:30pm

Sunday

2:30pm to 4:30pm

How can i edit my recording?

While there is no dedicated computer in the Production Room, you can use one of your public computers to edit your recording. All of our computers come equipped with a program called Audacity, which is the worlds most popular audio editing software.

Do I need to be a member to access the Production studio?

Yes. All hirers must have a library card and provide photo identification. Hirers are responsible for supervising activities, ensuring the safety of guests, and covering any costs associated with damage or repairs.

Is there a fee to book the room?

Up until June 20th 2026 there is no fee to book the production studio.

Can children use the room?

The hirer must be a responsible individual and at least sixteen (16) years of age. Individuals aged fifteen (15) or younger may use the Production Room, provided their parent or legal guardian, acting as the hirer, accompanies them and makes the booking on their behalf.

Will I receive training to use the studio?

The room comes equipped with comprehensive training guides.
