Special Needs Service

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the Hawkesbury Library Service is currently offering a contactless home delivery service.

A range of Special Needs Services is available to Library members within the Hawkesbury Local Government Area, who through infirmity, disability or prolonged illness require access to the special collections and services.

Home delivery service

A free service available to Library members living in Hawkesbury Local Government Area, who are temporarily or permanently housebound due to: age, illness, injury or disability.  To be eligible for this service, residents need to supply a doctor's certificate to confirm their disability. Library members who receive this service have books and other items selected for them, based on their interests.  The items are delivered by volunteers once a month.

Reservations and requests can be made free of charge and are supplied at the next session.  Residents must be a Library member to use this service.

Nursing home bulk delivery

A regular service is available for nursing homes.  A selection of materials, which meet the needs of residents, is delivered to the nursing home.  No individual membership is required to use this service.
