Hawkesbury Library Service presents Dr Melinda Waterman

Dr Melinda Waterman is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Wollongong. As an early career biotechnologist, she examines the protective mechanisms and chemical signatures of moss species that live in temperate and Antarctic regions. In particular, Melinda is interested in using plants as a biological indicators for environmental change which is especially valuable in remote locations such as Antarctica. She has collaborated with researchers from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, Spain, and United Kingdom on several multidisciplinary projects.
