School Citizenship Awards

School Citizenship awards are sponsored by Council and are awarded to one student at every local primary and high school in the Hawkesbury District.

Students are selected for various reasons including:

  • academic achievements
  • contribution to the school community
  • displaying personal qualities important to the school’s spirit.

Councillors attend where possible, presenting the awards at the majority of school presentation ceremonies in the local area. This demonstrates the importance Council places on the School Citizenship Awards Program and recognises the student publicly in front of their parents, fellow students and teachers for their outstanding contributions to the school and the community.

Councillors are proud to be able to participate in the various school presentation ceremonies because of the vital role schools play in developing the qualities that make future good citizens in our society.

Students are nominated by the School's Principals and Teachers and are currently awarded in conjunction with the Annual Presentation Ceremonies held by schools in November/December each year.
