Proposed Adoption of 'Policy regarding Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors'

Council is reviewing its Policy for the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors, made under the Local Government Act 1993. As part of this process, Council is also required to give public notice of its intention to amend the policy, and allow the making of public submissions.

At its meeting on 27 July 2021, Council resolved to place the Draft Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors Policy on public exhibition for a period of 28 days and seek submissions from interested parties.

Council’s Draft Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors Policy will be available for view and comment on Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au via the Have Your Say tab or the link www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au from Wednesday, 18 August 2021 until Wednesday, 15 September 2021.

If you would like to make a submission, please quote Reference: ‘Draft Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors Policy’.

Submissions may be made by completing an online submission via www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au or in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146, Windsor NSW 2756, or by email to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au up to close of business on Wednesday, 15 September 2021. Council will consider all submissions received at a subsequent Council Meeting.

Should you lodge a submission, it will be considered, along with any other submissions received and may be included in a Council Meeting Paper. Your submission, including any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act, 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary but, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.

Expressions of Interest: Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee

Do you want to make a contribution to Aboriginal cultural heritage management in NSW? Do you have experience in working with other Aboriginal people to address significant cultural heritage management issues?

The NSW Government is inviting Aboriginal people who are committed to the protection and management of Aboriginal heritage across NSW to nominate to fill four vacancies on the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee.

The Committee aims to increase participation of Aboriginal people in the management and protection of Country cultural heritage, including joint management of national parks and protection of Aboriginal biodiversity and biological resources and spiritual values in relation to land and water.

It also provides advice on policies to support Aboriginal landowners and land managers to manage their lands for socio-economic, cultural and environmental outcomes.

The Committee is the primary advisory body for Heritage NSW in relation to the identification, assessment and protection of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, heritage impact permit processes, management plans and legislative reform.

Nominations will be to fill current and future vacancies that may arise. Integrated Development Proposal

77 Belmont Grove NORTH RICHMOND NSW 2754 (Lot 62 DP 1255164)

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for a two lot Torrens title subdivision of 77 Belmont Grove, North Richmond. The subdivision of the land is sought to allow the proposed southern lot to be dedicated to Sydney Water for the purpose of a water reservoir. The applicant is Redbank Communities. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.

The proposed development is defined as ‘integrated development’ under Section 4.46 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 because an approval under the Heritage Act 1977 is required from the Heritage Council of NSW.
