Description:Stage 1 of the bank stabilisation and betterment project at Governor Phillip Park has commenced today, 12 May 2025. These works are scheduled to be carried out for approximately 12 weeks, weather permitting. Work hours are between 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, 7am-1pm Saturdays. The construction footprint will be similar to the red-hashed area in the second figure below, with the addition of a construction compound near the Clubhouse. Access to the boat ramp and carpark will remain unaffected.

Description:Hawkesbury City Council is pleased to announce the upcoming Stage 1 & 2 works for the Benson Lane Soccer Field Driveway and Car Park, scheduled from late January to late March 2025 (weather permitting). The works include survey setout, construction of a sealed driveway and unsealed parking lot, a concrete driveway, and a concrete dish drain. During construction, limited parking will be available for club users. This is funded by the Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Package.

Description:Major improvements are now underway at Macquarie Park in Windsor, breathing fresh life into the beloved riverside recreation space. The $1.8 million project includes State Government funding thanks to its Places to Swim program ($839,400), Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Package Community Asset Program ($600,000), and a $550,000 contribution from Hawkesbury City Council, creating more options for safe recreation around our river. The works will include added shade structures, picnic facilities, signage and a path and trail network to improve accessibility. New picnic areas adjacent to the riverbank that will include shade, seating, tables, barbeques and drinking fountain. There will also be an emergency access ramp down to the beach area. The existing picnic area will be upgraded with new table settings and additional shade. Each of these facilities will be suitable for all ages and abilities. These works will also increase visibility from the park to the riverbank through landscaping, improving safety for river users. Signage will be upgraded to provide risk, water quality and water safety messaging. The existing playspace will be upgraded so that it is more suitable for a regional destination park and will include a water play splash area with water pumps, sluice gates and a nature play creek bed. Other additions include a basket swing, a rope canoe swing spinner and nature balance play. The playspace upgrade will be flood resilient and will include play that is suitable for all ages and abilities, include shade, trees and landscaping.

Description:The amenities block at Navua Reserve is being replaced as part of the Community Facility Accessibility Project, aimed at improving accessibility across key city venues. This project aligns with Council’s ongoing efforts to enhance public infrastructure, particularly following the March 2022 floods. Navua Reserve, a popular spot for recreation, was heavily impacted by the 2022 floods. The upgrade includes a new anti-vandal toilet building with two unisex ambulant cubicles, one accessible cubicle, and the replacement of a damaged picnic table, with a new connection to the pathway and parking. The project, set to be completed by June, will cause minimal disruption, with existing facilities remaining operational until the new amenities are ready. Work begins on February 14th.

Description:Hawkesbury City Council is pleased to announce that under the NSW Government funding program Yarramundi Reserve (Southern part) has been started. Scope of works include Construction of new concrete walkway, Construction of a section of footbridge/boardwalk, Seating benches, Installation of new Signages, Car park improvement and Riprap works. The project's objective is to rehabilitate the southern part of the reserve, as the Council is committed to continuously improving the quality of Council infrastructure and increasing its recreational facilities and asset life. The reinstatement would ensure a safe parking and walking environment within the reserve, minimise risks, and ensure weather resilient assets.

Description:Riverbank restoration works at Windsor begin Wednesday, 5 February 2025, after flood damage from 2020-2024. Repairs will focus on three eroded sections, including areas along The Terrace and Governor Phillip Park. The project includes installing gabion cages and reinstating the walking path. Funded by the NSW Government and Hawkesbury City Council, the works are set to finish by June 2025. The works will be carried out during weekdays between 7am and 5pm and, Saturdays between 8am and 1pm. Pedestrians and road users are asked to follow all traffic signs, controls and directions.

Description:Hawkesbury City Council is pleased to announce that works on Blaxlands Ridge Road, Kurrajong will commence in April 2025. The project involves full depth road reconstruction with spray seal and line marking. Funded by Council, this upgrade aims to enhance road safety and create a safer environment for residents and visitors. Expected works durations - 3 Weeks.

Description:Reconstruction of 1 Km section of Greens Road, Lower Portland. The location of this section is approximately 510m east of Wheelbarrow Ridge Road and finishes at the nearby location of the recent Greens Road major reconstruction section. The scope of work includes pavement Works – widening, realigning, rehabilitation of road pavement, spray seal and drainage improvements - table drains, stormwater pit reconstructions and pipe lowering. The project is expected to be completed over 9 weeks, weather permitting.
