Richmond Swimming Centre 2023-2024 Summer Season

Richmond Swimming Centre will open for the 2023-2024 Summer Season in time for the September/October School holidays on Saturday, 23 September 2023.

With large open spaces, a half size basketball court, shaded toddlers pool and playground, Richmond Swimming Centre is a great place to take the family to cool down this summer.

Learn to Swim lessons and Squad training will again operate after school and on Saturday mornings throughout Term 4, 2023 and Term 1, 2024.  Learn to Swim holiday programs will run for all levels during the Summer school holidays in January in the lead up to school swimming carnivals.

The 50 metre pool may be closed for events and peak school usage, these closures will be advertised in advance of the event/s through Council’s Facebook page and signage at the pool.

Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy on Public Exhibition

Council is inviting community members to view and comment on Council’s Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy which is on public exhibition at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au from Wednesday, 20 September until Wednesday, 18 October 2023.

In April 2022, the Office of Local Government released a Model Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy (Model Policy). The Model Policy contains more detailed provisions concerning roles and responsibilities of Councillors and staff they interact with, and Councillor requests for information.

The current Policy has been reviewed and amended to conform substantially with the Model Policy, and those amendments are detailed in the Business Paper of the Ordinary meeting of 12 September which is available on Council’s website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/your-council/council-meetings-and-agendas/business-papers

A Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy has been prepared incorporating these amendments and it is recommended that the Draft Policy be placed on public exhibition.

A hard copy of the Draft Policy can also be viewed at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm during the exhibition period.

The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary, however, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.

Exhibition of Planning Proposal LEP005/22 - 6/21 Vincents Road, Kurrajong

Council is exhibiting a Planning Proposal and other supporting documentation for 6/21 Vincents Road, Kurrajong (Lot 6 DP 270827) at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au

The objective of the Planning Proposal is to include a site-specific local provision under Part 6 of the Hawkesbury Local Environment Plan 2012 to allow a community title subdivision of the Land & Environment Court approved 19 lot Seniors Housing Development, and extension of a private cemetery at 6/21 Vincents Road, Kurrajong.

A hard copy of the Planning Proposal and other supporting documentation can also be viewed during the exhibition period at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor from 9am to 4pm.

The inclusion of personal information with your submission is voluntary. However, if not provided Council will not be able to contact you about the proposal. The information will be stored in Council's electronic records system and paper files. For your protection, Council recommends that you do not include defamatory comments in your submission.

Under Section 10.4(5) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, any person who makes a submission to Council is required to disclose any political donation or gift.  Where relevant a Political Donation and Gift Disclosure Statement is to accompany any submission lodged with Council. This statement can be obtained from Council’s Customer Service Unit or on Council’s website.

Any comments about this proposal may contain information that is personal information, such as information that identifies you, etc, for the purposes of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1988.

Submissions are balanced with Council’s statutory obligations, the rights of the proponent and the public interest. Council must consider any submissions made before it decides whether to proceed with or abandon a proposal.

The Minister for Planning has not delegated the making of the Local Environmental Plan to Council.

Community Consultation

Hawkesbury City Council wants to hear from residents and local businesses on what they would like done to mitigate the impacts of floods in the Hawkesbury.

Council has received a grant through the NSW Governments’ Floodplain Management Program to complete a review of the Hawkesbury Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan 2012. As part of Council’s floodplain management programs, Council is committed to finding solutions to reduce the risk to life and the social and economic damages of flooding.

The project will investigate flood behaviour and identify measures to manage flood risks for communities impacted by flooding of the Hawkesbury River.

Management options may include physical works, emergency management including flood warnings and evacuation, communication, planning controls, education,  or voluntary house raising or purchasing.

Community members can complete an online questionnaire or email details in relation to their preferred options for the management of the impacts from Hawkesbury River flooding, the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Sarah McMahon said.

The community’s valuable insights and ideas will be used to identify ways to manage the impacts of flooding as part of the Review of the Hawkesbury Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan. Identified measures will be considered for inclusion into the draft Review, and following public exhibition and adoption by Council, will be implemented through the updated Hawkesbury Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan.

Council is seeking Tenders from appropriately qualified and experienced contractors to carry out the Sewerage Pumping Station “L’ Access Road Upgrade Works at Windsor Downs.

Tender documents are available at Council’s Administration Building at 366 George Street, Windsor from 12 September 2023 for a non-refundable fee of $100 (incl. GST) or available free at WSROC e-tendering website at https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/wsroc

Tenders may only be submitted by the means described in the tender documents and must be received by the closing time. Late tenders will not be accepted. Please note there will be a compulsory site pre-tender meeting at 10:30am Thursday, 21 September 2023 at Windsor Downs off Burnside Grove.

Hawkesbury City Council has received a development application for Demolition, Earthworks - Concept Masterplan and Stage 1 works for 'Jacaranda.’ The development application and supporting information will be on public exhibition for the period 20 September 2023 to 20 October 2023.

The concept masterplan details the staged subdivision of 580 residential lots and associated infrastructure. The proposal also involves Stage 1 preparatory works of the concept masterplan comprising dam dewatering, remediation works, removal of trees and vegetation, bulk earthworks and establishment of Asset Protection Zones.

The application has been lodged as ‘Nominated Integrated Development’ under Section 4.49 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as the proposal requires general terms of approval under Section 100B of the Rural Fires Act 1997, Section 90 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 and Section 91 of the Water Management Act 2000.

The determining authority for the Development Application will be the Sydney Western City Planning Panel at the above property. The applicant is Celestino Pty Ltd. Hawkesbury City Council is the consent authority.
