Celebrate Library and Information Week 2023

Garden Party 4Join Hawkesbury Library Service to help celebrate Library and Information Week from 31 July to 6 August 2023. It’s a week of promoting and celebrating libraries, building awareness; it’s a great way to learn more about what libraries do and the important role they play in the local community.

Library and Information Week will be celebrated with a garden party on Wednesday, 2 August 2023, 10am-4pm, at Richmond Branch Library, 29 West Market Street, Richmond. It will be a fun day with a book sale, sweet treats, giant chess, giveaways and information stalls.

Morning tea will be available from 10am to 11:30am and afternoon tea from 2:30pm to 4pm. A pop-up book sale will be held all day with a great range of secondhand books and ex-library stock for sale with prices starting from as low as 10c! Give a great book a home! Hawkesbury Community Nursery volunteers will also give away plants from from 2pm, but it will be first in first served, so don’t miss out!

10 to 11am

What Outreach Services does the Library offer? Find out all about children’s services as well as special needs for older persons or people unable to visit.

11am to 1pm

Interested in the history of the Hawkesbury? Learn how to access historic images online and pick up some free postcards. Want to start researching your family history, come and talk to an expert. We have guides and charts to give away.

2 to 3pm

Discover more about eServices and what is available online. Tech Help experts on hand to give you a hand with all your Tech questions.
