Free information sessions on solar energy

Come along to a free information session on solar energy at the Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre in Richmond next week and learn all about how it works and the many benefits it offers to the environment and you.

You will also find out how much it costs and how much money you are likely to save on energy bills as well as hear from independent experts and Hawkesbury locals who will share their experiences with solar.

There will be information stalls and solar displays and wood-fired pizza available for purchase.

Information session dates:

  • Thursday, 24 June from 6pm-8pm
  • Sunday, 27 June from 11am-1pm.

Venue: Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre, Western Sydney University Campus, Cnr Campus Drive and Science Road, Richmond

The information sessions are being provided through the Hawkesbury Resilience Project: ‘Learn, Prevent, Prepare: Community Action for a Resilient Hawkesbury’ which is an education, engagement and empowerment program designed to respond to climate impacts.

The NSW Government funded project is a partnership between

  • Western Sydney University (Sustainable Futures)
  • Hawkesbury City Council
  • Hawkesbury Environment Network
  • Macquarie Electorate Student Climate Activists
  • Penrith-Hawkesbury Environmental Educators Network and
  • The Regional Centre for expertise in Education Greater Western Sydney.

Run primarily by Hawkesbury residents, the program aims to inspire the Hawkesbury community to create the social, institutional and physical infrastructure needed to survive and potentially thrive in our changing climate.
