Pitt Town community projects update - 10 June 2021

10 June 2021

Welcome to your regular update on the many projects happening around the Pitt Town area. As these projects are rolled out, we will continue to keep the community up to date.

Pitt Town road upgrades

Work is underway to upgrade a number of key roads in Pitt Town to improve driver and pedestrian safety. The roads include Bathurst Street, Hall Street, Hawkesbury Street, Johnston Street, Wells Street and Punt Road. You can view a full list of the works at https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/_resources/media-releases/2021/may/heritage-properties-benefit-from-$40,000-in-local-heritage-grants.

This week, contractors are setting up at the roads listed, investigating service locations (such as water mains, electricity and phone cables), preparing for traffic management and arranging for the delivery of construction materials.

Construction work will begin from Wednesday, 16 June 2021, weather permitting, on Bathurst Street from Church Street to Buckingham Street. Please drive to conditions and follow the instructions from traffic controllers and detour signage.

Fernadell Park Masterplan and Plan of Management

Plans for your new 9ha Fernadell Park are now on exhibition. Council has listened to community feedback on what you want to see at the park as part of the design process. This exciting new park will be the heart of family recreation in Pitt Town.

Have your say on the Masterplan and Plan of Management by Thursday, 8 July 2021 at  www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au/fernadell.

Public hearing - put it in your diary

This change is proposed to allow the future improvement of Fernadell Park with new public sporting and recreation facilities.
