Council has received a $10,000 plus GST grant from the NSW Government’s Festival of Place Summer Fund for the special Easter celebrations, State Member for Hawkesbury, Ms Robyn Preston explained.

“The Festival of Place is an inaugural celebration of public spaces across NSW. The Festival celebrates the breadth, beauty and possibilities of NSW’s public spaces. We encourage people to re-emerge and engage safely with public spaces,” Ms Preston said.

“The Summer Fund brings The Festival of Place to people right across the State, as part of the NSW Government’s efforts to support community wellbeing and economic recovery in our local centres, including our beautiful Hawkesbury.”

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Patrick Conolly welcomed the funding from the NSW Government and the chance to enliven public spaces in the Hawkesbury with the community events.

“This is a great way to activate our public spaces and support community wellbeing,” Mayor Conolly said.

“This will be a boost for our local community and local businesses as the events will encourage people to come along to our town centres to have a great time while supporting the local economy.”

Ms Preston said, “I am looking forward to attending the Easter Egg-sperience.”

This is a funding initiative from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and the Environment.
