Museum seeks memories of Paradise Gardens

6 May 2021

Do you remember Paradise Gardens at Cattai? Then we need you!

Boat rides, picnics, the giant shoe house, the Flying Birdman Rally, waterslides and not to mention the dinosaur and reptile replicas! Hawkesbury Regional Museum at Windsor is preparing for an exciting new exhibition on the popular Paradise Gardens, and we need your help!

The Museum is currently researching and documenting this long forgotten family fun park, and we are seeking any souvenirs, photos, memorabilia, stories and more and that you may have and you would like to share, donate or loan to the Museum for our upcoming exhibition – so that the Museum can capture this part of the Hawkesbury’s history.

Paradise Gardens opened in January 1976 on the riverside site of Bungool and operated until the mid-1980s. It was owned by the famous Bullen family who also operated Bullen’s Animal World at Wallacia and the African Lion Safari in Warragamba

If you can help us, please email us at museum@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or call (02) 4560 4439 or visit us during our opening hours.
