Remote Area Problem Waste Collection Events – Reminder

Remote Area WasteRemote Area Problem Waste Collection Events will be held at Bilpin, Colo Heights and in the Macdonald Valley in September.

Dates

  • Bilpin – 10AM to 11AM – Saturday, 3 September 2022 – please note registrations for the BILPIN event will close at MIDDAY on Thursday, 1 September
  • The Macdonald Valley (St Albans) – 10AM to 11AM – Saturday, 10 September 2022
  • Colo Heights– 10AM to 11AM – Saturday, 17 September 2022.

Accepted Items: Paint, gas bottles, fluorescent globes and tubes, smoke detectors, motor oils, other oils, household batteries, car batteries.

Items not accepted: Computers and televisions, clothing, cardboard and paper.

Residents living in these areas can register online at hawklivingsustainably.eventbrite.com or email council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or call Council’s Customer Service on 4560 4444.

The Hawkesbury Community Recycling Centre (CRC)

Hawkesbury community members can use the Community Recycling Centre (CRC) at the Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility drop off the following materials free of charge:

  • Paint
  • Smoke detectors
  • Gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Car batteries
  • Household batteries
  • Fluorescent globes and tubes
  • TV and computer equipment
  • Paper and cardboard.

Only household quantities of materials will be accepted at the CRC and must be transported in containers no larger than 20 litres. For paint, up to 100 litres of paint is accepted but still in containers no larger than 20 litres.

All Hawkesbury residents can make use of the Hawkesbury Community Recycling Centre at the Hawkesbury City Waste Management Facility at 1 The Driftway, South Windsor, 8am to 4pm, 7 days a week.
