New waste services survey for our community

Hawkesbury City Council is inviting the community to have its say on the future of waste services in the Hawkesbury in a new survey, the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Patrick Conolly has announced.

“The waste services that Council provides to the community are essential services and it is an important issue for our community members,” Mayor Conolly said.

“We are seeking your feedback to assist with Council’s decision-making in relation to new waste services contracts and the development of a long-term Waste Strategy.

“With Council’s current waste services contracts expiring in 2023 and Council’s landfill reaching capacity within the next four years, it is vital for Council to determine the type of waste services that should be provided to the community into the future.”

Council is committed to meeting the community’s expectations in protecting and enhancing the built and natural environment for current and future generations as outlined in the Hawkesbury Community Strategic Plan.

“We want to provide waste services that meet our community’s needs, whilst ensuring the waste services are reliable, affordable and sustainable,” the Mayor said.

Council’s Waste Strategy aims to realise the community’s vision and to meet the State Government’s Waste Strategy and targets.
