Get your fluffy companions from the Shelter

2 June 2022

jakz dogIf you’re looking for a great companion then the Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter is open every day for you to visit and meet your new friend.

All dogs and cats are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and lifetime registered before leaving the shelter.

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Patrick Conolly encourages people to choose a pet from the local shelter rather than a pet shop.

“Hawkesbury City Council receives cats and dogs from the five local government areas of Cumberland, Penrith, Hornsby, Hills and Hawkesbury,” Mayor Conolly said.

“Our shelter staff are always happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about caring for dogs and cats or what their personalities are like to find one that suits you.”

When you go to the Shelter, you will have the chance to meet friendly dogs like JAKZ!! If you think our handsome gentleman Jakz is the man you have been looking for, please come down to the Shelter to meet him. We suggest also you bring any family dogs and children to the meet Jakz, just to make sure everybody gets along. He is already desexed and can leave the shelter with you.

The Shelter also offers special pet of the week discounted prices every week – see the adoption photo gallery for details at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/for-residents/animals-and-pets/animal-shelter
