Celebrate IDAHOBIT Day in the Hawkesbury

17 May 2022

rainbow flagShow your support for our LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Queer and Plus) community and join us tonight Tuesday, 17 May 2022 for a free Trivia Night for IDAHOBIT at Panthers North Richmond, 33 Beaumont Avenue, North Richmond from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

On 17 May each year, IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia) is celebrated globally and events are held to recognise the LGBTQ community and raise awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.

Council is committed to LGBTQ inclusion and is proudly associated with ACON, Australia’s largest not-for-profit lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) health organisation. The Rainbow Flag has been raised on the flag pole at the front of Council’s Administration Building in Windsor in recognition of IDAHOBIT Day.

Hawkesbury Community Outreach Services Inc. will host the Trivia Event with special guest Miranda Fair attending. All welcome.

Further resources are also available by visiting www.idahobit.org.au to download resources including Social Media Resources, or www.aconhealth.org.au/online_sessions for further online sessions and LGBTQ Information, and Connection and Wellness Forums.

This event is being held in partnership with a number of local services, demonstrating the commitment throughout the Hawkesbury to recognise and celebrate diversity in our community and to promoting inclusion in our community.

Proudly sponsored by Hawkesbury City Council and supported by Hawkesbury Community Outreach Services (HCOS), the AIDS Council of Australia (ACON) and The Women’s Cottage.
