Employment Zones Reform Public Exhibition by the NSW Government

employment zonesThe NSW Government is proposing changes to Business and Industrial Zones across NSW through the Employment Zones Reform project. The changes replace Business and Industrial zones with Employment zones within individual local environmental plans across NSW.

The NSW Government is currently exhibiting these proposed changes for six weeks through to 12 July 2022. To view details of the public exhibition or to make a submission please visit their website

The zone changes to the Hawkesbury Local Environmental Plan 2012 are as follows:

Current Zone

New Zone

B1 – Neighbourhood  Centre

B2 – Local Centre

E1 – Local Centre

B2 – Local Centre

E2 – Commercial Centre(For Windsor and Richmond Town Centres)

B5 – Business Development

B6 – Enterprise Corridor

E3 – Productivity Support

IN1 – General Industrial

IN2 – Light Industrial

E4 – General Industrial

Council has written directly to property owners of commercial and industrially zoned land to advise of these proposed changes by the NSW Government.
