Liam Benson exhibition at the Gallery

The Hawkesbury Regional Gallery is delighted to be the only gallery in Sydney to host Liam Benson’s touring exhibition ‘Virtue Without Stain’ from Bathurst Regional Gallery. The Hawkesbury community is invited to the exhibition launch on Friday, 18 August 2023 from 6pm to 8pm to meet Liam and the exhibition Curator, Richard Perram OAM, who will both speak at the event.

The exhibition highlights two decades of Liam’s photographic work, new media, performances, and embroidery practice. It includes new collaborative works made with local communities presenting Liam’s vision about who we are as Australians and how we deal with concepts of masculinity and homophobia.

Suitable for all ages. Free! Light refreshments provided.

The Gallery is located at 300 George Street, Windsor. the Deerubbin Centre (top floor). The exhibition will run until Sunday, 22 October 2023.

Workshop: Bad Embroidery with Liam Benson

There is no right or wrong way to sew a sequin!

Bad Embroidery is a fun, creative workshop that supports innovative experimentation with bead and sequin embroidery.  Liam will share his processes of experimenting with colour, texture, and pattern to create an intimate embroidered artwork.
