International Women's Day imageInternational Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on 8 March, arising out of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and Europe.

Since then, the growing International Women’s Day movement has helped make IWD a central point of action to build support for women’s rights and their full participation in the economy, politics, community and everyday life. There are many events happening to celebrate, including the ones below.

The Women’s Cottage is hosting a light lunch on Wednesday, 8 March from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at the Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre with entertainment by Womensong, children welcome.
