Sydney Writers’ Festival at Hawkesbury Central Library

Hawkesbury Library Service is pleased to participate in the 2023 Sydney Writers’ Festival. On Friday, 26 May, 6pm Tasmanian food writer, host of The Gourmet Farmer, and chef Matthew Evans will be in conversation with Esther Perry to talk about his fascinating career and his book, 'The Real Food Companion'.

A former food critic, Matthew now lives and works on 'Fat Pig Farm', a soil-to-stomach regenerative farm and restaurant in the picturesque Huon Valley. Matthew will share insights from 'The Real Food Companion' which draws on a four decades' long career and years of research, teaching readers how to ethically source, cook and eat real food through over 200 delicious recipes.

Matthew will be interviewed by Esther Perry, who has reviewed books and written articles for Australia’s Good Reading magazine for many years. Formerly in public relations, corporate communications and events, Esther is now involved in community and stakeholder engagement.

This entertaining discussion will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor. The event will cost $5 per person and will include free tea and coffee prior to the talk.
