Take a survey on the new Richmond Swimming Centre development

24 April 2024

Richmond Swimming Centre Visualisation imageA brand-new swimming facility will be built at the current Richmond Swimming Centre in Richmond, replacing the circa 1960s swimming centre with a modern facility catering to a variety of needs with the aim of operating year-round.

Council is inviting community members to provide feedback on a short five question survey that is now open at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au or direct link www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au/richmond-swimming-centre

Now is it the time to provide feedback on the planned facility! The survey will remain open until Sunday, 19 May 2024.

The Richmond Swimming Centre, which is an important swimming facility for the community, competitive swimmers, school swimming carnivals and more, will be upgraded to include:

  • all-season usage through an indoor and outdoor aquatic space allowing a new 8 lane 50m pool that separates into two 25m pools (one with the ability to enclose during winter)
  • accessibility upgrades to make the pools accessible to less mobile children and adults
  • interactive, zero-depth splash feature park for young children
  • increased shade throughout the site
  • additional community infrastructure including picnic facilities
  • improved water efficiency upgrades to aging plant and equipment.

The project will be funded through the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program. The Program will see $2 billion worth of transformational infrastructure delivered across Western Sydney.
