Living Sustainably Workshop Series - web imageAre you looking to build your knowledge and skills in living more sustainably? Hawkesbury City Council offers free face to face and online workshops for all residents living in the Hawkesbury Local Government Area to learn about a variety of sustainability topics.

Some past workshops include check and tune bike service, solar and energy efficiency, solar power and batteries, composting, reusable nappies, waterwise gardens, plastic-free living, worm farming, food waste avoidance, meal planning, business workshops, and more!

Not only do these workshops teach skills to increase your sustainability, but they also provide ways to save money and reduce your bills!

Upcoming workshops will include:

  • Circular Economy: Rethinking 'Waste’ (for good!) – March 2024
  • Composting – April 2024
  • Waterwise Gardens – May 2024
  • Solar and Energy Efficiency – June 2024.

The first workshop to kick off for 2024 will be Circular Economy: Rethinking 'Waste' (for good!). It will be an online workshop for Hawkesbury residents and businesses, to be held on Wednesday, 6 March 2024 from 6pm to 7:30pm with bookings required to receive the online link. The workshop will cover the state of waste and litter in the Hawkesbury, the circular economy: what is it and how it works, and 10 exciting ways you can incorporate the circular economy into your community.

The free, interactive workshop is facilitated by co-founder of Good for the Hood, Jo Taranto, who has worked with ABC's War on Waste and Fight for Planet A: Our Climate Challenge. Jo has seen communities all over Australia taking action to make cleaner, kinder and more sustainable choices.
