Remote Area Collection Events 2024

-Waste management - Mobile phonesHawkesbury City Council will hold four FREE Remote Area Collection Events across Colo Heights and the Macdonald Valley-St Albans areas to help the community dispose of unwanted electronic waste and problem waste.

The events include two electronic waste (e-waste) events and two problem waste events. Clearing households and properties of unwanted electronic waste and problem waste is a great way to be prepared, informed and ready, and to ensure our built and natural environments are protected and enhanced for current and future generations.

Colo Heights – Remote Area e-waste Collection Event – SUNDAY, 24 MARCH 2024

Residents in Colo Heights and surrounding suburbs can register to drop off their household electronic items at this event. Once registered, you may bring your accepted items to the collection van. The collection van will be in the Rural Fire Services Station carpark (3006 Putty Road, Colo Heights) on Sunday, 24 March 2024 from 10am until 11am.

Macdonald Valley-St Albans – Remote Area e-waste Collection Event – SUNDAY, 12 MAY 2024

Residents in the Macdonald Valley can register to drop off their household electronic items at this event. Once registered, you may bring your accepted items to the collection van. The collection van will be visibly parked on Bulga Street St Albans on Sunday,12 May 2024 from 10am until 11am.

BOTH e-waste collection events WILL accept your:

Cables, cameras including video cameras, CD drives, clock radios, computers (and accessories including monitors, mice, keyboards, hard drives, floppy discs), DVD players, electric blankets, electrical power tools, electronic games/toys, fax machines, grooming devices, juicers, mixers, mobile phones, androids, iPod, iPad, iPhone, networking equipment, personal electronic items, printers and printer cartridges, projectors, scanners, stereos, TVs, VCR players.

Strict quantity limits apply. Only 5 medium to large items or 10 small items will be accepted.

*Please remember to remove all private data from your devices.

BOTH e-waste collection events will NOT accept the below items:

Rear projection TVs, large white goods (fridges and freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and hobs), CDs, DVDs, videos and cassettes.

REGISTRATION

Registration is required for the ‘e-waste’ collection event, anyone not registered will not be permitted to drop off. To register, please email (preferred) Resource Recovery Australia on admin@resourcerecovery.org.au or call Resource Recovery Australia on 0437 618 209.

Upon registration, Resource Recovery Australia will enquire what you intend to bring and the quantity. This is to confirm what items will be accepted, along with ensuring the collection van has enough capacity to accept the items on the day.

The Colo Heights Remote Area Problem Waste Collection Event will be on Sunday, 26 May 2024, with more information available closer to the date.

The Macdonald Valley-St Albans Remote Area Problem Waste Collection Event will be on Sunday, 9 June 2024, with more information available closer to the date.

Council supports the Hawkesbury community and our environment by holding many sustainability events and educational workshops, with many being free events. Community members are encouraged to join in.
