Come by train and walk the Christmas trail all the way to Windsor Mall for even more fun! With 40+ stalls offering Christmas decorations, homewares, pet gifts, handmade jewellery and more, plus many of the Windsor Mall shops open for trading, Light Up Windsor will be the perfect opportunity to find Christmas gifts for your loved ones.
Get your photos at the snow flurries and Christmas lights, and enjoy free face painting, roaming and on-stage entertainment and fun family activities. The main stage on George Street will provide hours of entertainment including the best in local music and dance talent. Visit us at the Hawkesbury City Council tent to collect your reindeer passport. Find seven reindeer on the night and deliver your passport to Council’s tent to collect a special prize!
Local cafes and restaurants will also be open, as well as extra food trucks to feed all the eventgoers, so there will be plenty of food options!
Light Up Windsor is SO big, Santa is bringing TWO live reindeer all the way from the North Pole to help him. They will be available all evening to meet visitors and pose for family snaps. Meet and greet tickets will be on a first come first served basis on the day for a gold coin donation to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal. Santa and Mrs Claus will also greet families in person throughout the evening.
The Christmas trail is presented thanks to an Open Streets Program grant of $65,000 from the NSW Government.
Minister for Roads, Arts, Music and the Night-Time Economy, Jobs and Tourism John Graham said:
“We’re excited to support this event in Windsor.
“Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. Our streets are a critical part of our public and social infrastructure. Great streets make great towns and centres and reflect the local community and culture.
“The Open Streets program is about temporarily transforming our main streets into vibrant and welcoming public event spaces.
“The colour and diversity of these 130 events celebrates the unique personality of each town or suburb. This is what our vibrancy agenda is all about, backing locals to create events and entertainment that works for their local community.”
Hawkesbury City Council thanks our event partner the Windsor Business Group and our event sponsors Windsor RSL – Stage Sponsor, Rafton Family Lawyers – Reindeer Sponsor, Western Sydney Airport – Silver Sponsor and, Budget Car and Truck Rentals – Gold Sponsor, and The Christmas Tree Company - Silver Sponsor.
